Chuck that paper logbook!

If you have ever signed in to a paper log book in a company's front lobby, you know the drill. Name, time/date, reason for your visit, etc...  This information seldom gets a second look once you are signed in.

What if you could do it all electronically? What if you could pull metrics and view who is currently in the building in real-time? This is nothing new in the security world, but it is certainly easy for any company to add this to their front lobby with Jolly's new version of Lobby Track visitor management software.

Features include:

• Active Directory integration
• Email notification
• Driver License scanning option

The software is shipping now, and you can download a free trial here. Let Laminex know if we can help you with this innovative way to add security and increase the speed of visitors through your lobby today.

Rigid Multi-Card Badge Holder

Print a 3 color logo on the back of a rigid plastic badge holder? Sure...why not?!

National ID a matter of time?

A nationwide identification system is already current law, but it's being put on hold due to privacy, identity theft, and other concerns from almost half of the states in the country, Louisiana included, according to state representative Brett Geymann.
Geymann spoke to the League of Women Voters on Friday about the Real ID system, as well as the pared down Pass ID system.

"Essentially, to summarize what Real ID does, is it takes your driver's license, and it puts standard minimum requirements on that driver's license through all 50 states. Essentially, all our licenses would be the same," Geymann said. "Under this program, your information is only as secure as 50 other state's systems. That's a lot of points for thieves to steal information." (Click here for full story)

We say: It's interesting that the level of security that we want in this country seems to be related to the current level of terrorist threat.

Carabiner Reel with Slide Clip

File this under giving the people what they want. We have had regular inquires for a carabiner style reel with a rotating slide clip on back. The multiple attachment option has a special appeal. We now are stocking translucent red and blue with opaque black on the way. There is a 3/4" recess on the front side to allow for a flat acrylic or poly domed logo. And yes, of course we will send you a sample.

Boy, we have let our popular little blog fall into disrepair! It's been a barn burner of a spring. We have been out exhibiting at trade shows literally across the country and we have visited customer's in just as many places. Travis has been pushing hard to complete a new catalog and it's going to be our best one yet. After a long and unusually cold winter this beautiful spring looks like the way our economy is heading...bright and sunny.

Our little start-up division, ID4Sports, has had event sponsorships all over the country just about every weekend and we have exhibited at a few sporting events festivals. This past weekend one of the pro racers on Team Metro, the cycling team we sponsor, won the Pro 1/2 Criterium in Roswell, GA. Congrats Andre Vandenberg!

We will try to get back to our regular posts on the promotional products and photo ID industry. Until then, enjoy your spring and don't be a stranger!
